Health Insight Ltd acquired the mediary service as an asset in early December 2006.
Although mediary® and mediary121tm are rigorously designed to reflect the requirements of the Pharmaceutical Industry's ABPI Code of Practice and General Medical Council code of ethics the company decided to provide the online service for representatives and practices free of charge as a service to both the medical industry and the UK’s Primary Care Practices
The original brains behind the mediary® application were Anita Reader, Elaine Marshall, and Paula McMahon. Today Anita and Elaine form the Operational executive team. The CEO is Ian D Kennedy MBA, and the non-executive 'board' includes Dr Jeremy Stone MBA, and Former Minister of State for Health Gerald Malone LLB. (Chair)
The team encompasses practice management experience, general practice experience, and collectively over eighty years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
Health Insight Ltd is pleased to announce that the Health Care Industry leaders advisory board, and The NHS User Group Advisory board, has agreed to continue to advise the management of the mediary service.
Chaired by past Minister of State for Health Gerald Malone the mediary advisory group includes Sir Christopher Kelly KCB, former permanent secretary of The Department of Health, chairman of the NSPCC and the Financial Ombudsman Service and a member of the board of the National Consumer Council, Ann Hacker was Managing Director of the Allen & Hanburys division of Glaxo (now GSK) has led a number of biotechnology and diagnostics companies in CEO and board roles. She is currently Non Executive Director of several healthcare companies and of the Sitka Venture Capital Trust Fund in healthcare investments. Drummond Paris is President of Kowa Pharmaceuticals Europe, recently Managing Director of Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK and Ireland and Mr. Kevin James, a Pharmaceutical Industry Consultant recently Managing Director of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals UK and Ireland.
Dr James Kingsland, Chairman of the National Association of Primary Care (NAPC) has agreed to continue the user group advisory board. His board includes Val Hempsey recently awarded ‘Practice Manager of The Year.
The board members will advise the operational management of mediary to ensure full transparency of its service to the health care industry and Primary Care.
