PRESS RELEASE
mediary announces FREE service to Medical Industry
Dateline Thursday, 09 November 2006 London.
mediary now provides FREE internet communications between doctor’s practices and the pharmaceutical industry’s representatives allowing appointments to be made online saving the pharmaceutical industry unnecessary travel, and congestion of practice waiting rooms and patient telephone lines. www.mediary121.net is forecast to save the NHS Primary Care Practices as much as £100 million of time over the next five years releasing administrative staff burden for more patient focussed time.
The pharmaceutical industry can save many thousands of driven miles with the associated health and safety efficiencies released by this FREE online service.
Mediary helps address environmental concerns regarding global warming. For every 1000 miles avoided by the use of mediary 360kg of the green house gas carbon dioxide is saved. Use of the mediary service enables companies to take immediate steps to address the concerns and corporate responsibilities set out in the Stern Report. If all pharmaceutical representatives were to make use of the system the estimated savings for the UK would be c. 13,000 metric tonnes of Carbon Dioxide per annum. (Over 28 million Lbs.)
The mediary communication service consists of a free of charge workflow solution with an electronic diary for primary care practices and a web site for many of the 10,000 UK medical representatives to access their meetings and appointments online.
CEO Ian Kennedy commented; ‘for a minority of large pharmaceutical companies even a small fee equivalent to a phone call was enough to dissuade full acceptance of this service, to the disappointment of many doctor’s practices. Now there is no reason to hesitate in taking the efficiencies afforded by this online communication channel. We already have substantial evidence from hundreds of practices over two and a half years that they appreciate representatives collecting their appointments online and enjoy a better, more positive relationship with users of the system’
A similar service for entire field forces managed from company head offices remains available which offers sophisticated reporting and analysis tools. The mediary business plans revenue streams generated from the sale of its anonymised data and range of analytics and reports which are an aid to territory planning and field force deployment in the medical industry.
Editors Note: In 2004 Wales Fund Managers, led investors, Hafren Ventures and Finance Wales Mezzanine, providing funding to ‘mediary’. Regional Selective Assistance from the National Assembly for Wales with founders and directors investment raised capital of £1.25M, since supplemented.
mediary’s electronic diary is registered with c. 700 practices with around 12 per week joining currently. 1,500 representatives from 74 field forces are registered with ‘mediary121’.
